We met in high school. I was only 14. He was a few years older than me and the most popular guy in school. I thought he was cute of course and figured I had no chance with him. Little did I know I was wrong. Luckly we hung out with the same group of friends and shortly after we met we began dating. We dated all through out my high school years. But once senior year came I wanted to experiance one year with the girls. No boyfriend to worry about. I wanted to have my fun. So I broke it off. And it lasted for 2 years. He found a new girlfriend and I was beginning to think I had made a mistake just cause I wanted to have my fun. But then one day out of the blue he called me. We talked just as friends but shorlty after we know we still loved eachother. And here were are! We've been married for 5 years. Im Kristin, 27 and DH is 30. And this is our story of trying to start our family.....
I always knew deep down that we would have problems getting pregnant. I always had irregular periods and we hardly ever used protection. After we got married I knew I wanted to try right away. So I went to my PCP and told her I was concerned because of my menstrual history. She said she would run some blood work and request an ultrasound. She said she was thinking maybe I had PCOS. All test checked out normal. She said try for 1 year unprotected and if nothing happens come back to me. I got impatient and about six months later went to my OBGYN. Explained everything to her. Got the same response. Try for one year and if nothing happens come back to me. Well of course nothing happened. One year later still no baby. So I made an appt. She ran some test did another ultrasound and says I in fact do have PCOS. Wants me to see a infertility specialist. Geez, how did I know that was coming? So DH actually ends up getting laid off of his job so TTC is put on the back burner for a long time actually.
This brings us to present time. March 2007 I made my first appt. with the RE. I was very excited about all the possiblities. PCOS was again confirmed. Our first step was injectibles with IUI. So we had things set up for June 07'. I was given Bravelle. It first started off with one vial. Then a week later bumped up to 2. Then 3. I was on the meds for 18 day! But was assured that it was ok. Finally we went in for our IUI. The 2ww was torture. Finally BETA day! I got the call. "well you are kind of pregnant" WHAT?? "You beta is 30, which is kind of low, let's test again Monday" Well the beta rose but not much. Turned out to be a "chemical pregnancy" In my opinion I think it had something to do with being on the meds for so long. It took my body 2 whole months to finally drop down to zero! November 07' our second try at IUI. This time I am immediately started at 3 vials. Seem to be responding well. Then my E2 drops and AF decides to arrive right smack in the middle of the cycle. So I am cancelled. We deciede with the holidays around the corner we are wound to TAB until after the new year. My RE suggests IVF. So we told her we would think about it and get back to her when we were ready. So March 08' we deciede to go ahead with the IVF. Everything seems to go smoothly. I had 7 follicles. I was excited. I was actually responding well to the meds (for me anyways) ER day comes. I wake up and the RE comes in "well, I have some not so good news" We were only able to retrieve ONE egg. So we will see if it fertilizes and come in Monday for transfer" So we go in monday. Needless to say it was a BFN. Here we are one week away from our next IVF. I start Lupron and meds and ER is suppose to be 10-24. I am excited and very hopeful!
So I hope you all will follow my stroy as I will try and follow yours.
Baby Dust to everyone!
